    At the beginning of 2016 we started a new and revolutionary project at NBH, aimed for mums with a handicapped child. Today, we are happy to inform you that the biggest project of 2016 is progressing at full speed. All preparation work has been finished; all the rooms have been dismantled.

  5. Success: anti-Flu Vaccine for NBH & KrBH 2016

    Winter brings not only holidays, presents and lots of fun by outdoors games with the snow but also lots of extra worries for the doctors because it is the season of viruses and flus.
    As always, unfortunately there was no budget available to buy anti-flu vaccine nor for necessary winter medics for the children of the orphanages in Ukraine.
    And as always Les Amis de Svieta came to help. It has become the tenth year when our friends in America, Helen and Jim Smith (the leaders of Svieta Inc.) have kindly paid for more than 100 doses of anti-flu vaccine for NBH.

  6. Bathtub and changing table needed

    “I will manage everything if my mum is nearby” at NBH is an unprecedented project. Until now, we had no experience with hosting adults at NBH (mothers in this case). That’s why we now face a challange we couldn’t foresee, also the project is already “ongoing”. Bathroom reconstruction is the problem. Bathrooms were just big enough for children. Now the same bathroom will be used by both the mother and her child. For example now we need to install a shower cabin and a sink for the mother, which leaves no more space for the changing table and baby bathtub.

    That’s why we came up with the following idea: bathtub and changing table kombi.

  9. Olga Ivanovna update

    Almost two months have passed since Olga Ivanovna came back home after her radiation treatment in Kiev.
    Olga Ivanovna is very happy with progress of her recovery! All the burns under her arm are now healed and she is working full time again. The poison of the chemo is leaving the body and Olga feels much better; all blood tests are within the physiological range.
