News from Nikolaiev 2025

Much is new in Nikolaiev.
The new director of the Nikolaiev Baby House (NBH) is Iryna Timofiychuk, replacing Nataliya Grigorenko.

The NBH is now part of the Nikolaiev hospital. This is positive, as the hospital now has to provide an ambulance and a doctor if a child needs to be transported.

The access path to the NBH has been rebuilt. See the project here.

The three main working areas of the NBH center:
1) Medical and social assistance for children up to 4 years of age who have been left without parental care for various reasons. This corresponds to the NBH before the war.
2) Medical rehabilitation for children with disabilities up to the age of 18. These disabled children live at home and come to the NBH for treatment. They use the new pathway.
3) Palliative care for children up to 6 years old. This department is new and takes over the function of the boarding school of Zurupinsk, which has been occupied by Russia.
