Sunday April 13th
Mission completed :exclaim:
Pascal and Vika have arrived late at night in Nuremberg, after extremly long queing at the Ukrainian – Hungarian border and after some mechanical problems with the car. All is well that ends well.

After they resolved the last tiny details they are now ready to drive to Germany :coolsmirk:
Wednesday April 9th
Finally, done! They have obtained all the necessary papers to drive back to Germany by car. After endless discussions and long hours waiting they have received just what they were entitled by law anyway, nothing more.The story of a girl from Zurupinsk continues…
Olga Igorivna has found a new school and has started on September 1st, 2007 to study at Kachovsky state agricultural technical school. She decided to go to this technical school in Kachovka, rather than to the school in Snigurivka, because it is closer to where she used to live.

Olga is doing a preparatory year before starting technical school. She takes lessons in math, physics, Ukraine and English language, Ukraine and foreign literature, chemistry, biology and world history. Quite a comprehensive list of subjects, isn’t it?
In 2011, when she will graduate from Kahovsky State Agricultural Technical School, she will have a diploma as ‘технолога пищевой промышленности’ which translates to ‘technologist of the food-processing industry’.Trip report fall 2007

Pascal is back home in Switzerland.

Director Svetlana Petrovna of Kherson Baby House has received the mandate to carry out a pilot project of a Montesorri classroom, similar to the one we helped realize for Nikolaiev Baby House in 2006.

The 2nd and 3rd phase of this long-term project are finished to everybody’s satisfaction. The results are very impressive 🙂

Olga Igorivna was born on August 25th 1986. Her parents refused her at the maternity hospital because of multiple medical problems. She stayed at Nikolaiev Baby House (NBH) till September 1992, during which time she had many surgery operations.
December 2006 Director Olga Ivanovna from NBH, who stayed in contact with her even after her departure from NBH, contacted us and asked for help.Olga Igorivna, November 2006A sad and really touching story where we wanted to help.

Flight back via Budapest to Zurich, with a mess in Budapest… 🙄
Friday April 27th
The road back to Nikolaiev was full of police controls. Vika always gets along well with police. Other than many kilometers there isn’t much news to report today 🙂 . Ah yes, spring finally seems to arrive to Ukraine!
Thursday April 26th
Today, we visited in the name of OBS school internat (boarding school) at Zeleniy Gay and on behalf of LAdS France we visited specialized orphanage ZGO. We decided to finance a new heating system as continuation of the water project.
Little Vika is recovering well three days after her difficult operation. moreFirst phase of Kherson Baby House windows replacement project is terminated!!
The deadlines were met! The first phase of the project started last May is completed (see earlier articles to this project here and there) .

Sunday, October 15th
Flight back via Munich, where I will stay a week for business. 🙄
Saturday, October 14th
We succeeded in finishing the purchase of the Montessori material at the market of Nikolaiev, not without difficulty. The remainder of the day was devoted to the assessment of the voyage and to the accounting.
Friday, October 13th
We spent the day trying to resolve the many last open points and to return to the Baby House of Nikolaiev. Great news: director Olga Ivanovna is invited to a series of seminars on health in Germany and Switzerland! Partly thanks to our assistance, she will leave tomorrow for a long trip by bus which will take her among other places also to Zurich, Bern and Geneva!
