Prevenar vaccine for NBH

In April 2014 Les Amis de Svieta got a new letter of request from NBH.

In the letter Director of the orphanage, Olga Ivanovna, writes about so called “Prevenar 13” vaccine, which protects children from severe forms of pneumococcal infections and is strongly recommended for children, whose diseases cause the weakness of immune system. The vaccine is very expensive and can cost up to $100 per dose. Considering each child must be vaccinated twice, the orphanage can’t afford buying it with its very low budget.
Our friend and sponsor Hanni agreed to help and paid for first 30 doses of Prevenar 13.

All of them will be used to vaccinate 15 little inhabitants of the orphanage, who in their medical books have terrible diagnose: HIV positive or AIDS. They are definitely the most needed to be protected from any kind of serious infections.

But there are 17 more children at NBH who due to their diagnoses permanently suffer from different forms of pneumonia, bronchitis and otitis. For them vaccination would be also very helpful.
