Karina went to Kharkov
In the middle of September 2013 Karina went to Kharkov again for her third operation. This time, exactly as it had been planned, both hands were operated. The doctors managed to separate both little fingers and now the girl has three on each hand.
All the doctors and caregivers are very happy with the results and confirm the girl uses all her fingers and is able to pick up even tiny things such as raisins or breadcrumbs.
Unfortunately there were some difficulties with Karina’s recovering after anesthesia and she had to spend a week in the department of intensive care at Kharkov’s hospital. That’s why at the moment the doctors are very careful before planing any further operations. The girl first needs to rebuild her health completely.
We also would like to let you know that meanwhile Karina has grown up a lot. She is really big now, can sit down and stand up by herself and we all really hope she will be able to walk one day. She is a very nice child, is really loved by her caregivers, who spoil her quite a lot ;-).
We heartedly thank Hanni (Karina’s sponsor) for financing her operations and Galya (LAdS Kharkov), who organized Karina’s stay and helped the girl’s nurse.
